4. Guzik- Shadow isn’t a bad thing. Sometimes a shadow can tell you a lot. But the shadow is not the substance. The Old Covenant and its law were not themselves bad or evil, they were only incomplete and insufficient to bring total cleansing from sin, and to save.

C. Lived Obediently With His Body
1. Heb. 10:7 “Behold, I have come to do your will, oh God.”
2. Luke 2:49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” (age 12, at the Temple in Jerusalem)
3. Matt. 8:23,24 Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him.24 And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. (Served to the point of exhaustion)
D. Offered In Obedience
1. 1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
2. Isaiah 50:6 I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.
3. John 10:17b, 18a “… I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18 “No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself…”
The Father gave the Son a body.
The Son gave it back.
