Christians are not divorced from the Law of God.
The Law does apply to our lives.
We must have a right understanding of it’s application. It can be wrongly applied.

QUESTION: How is a person made righteous before God? Romans 8:3-5
The Law has righteous requirements.
It demands that man live a certain way.
What does the Law do?…..Romans 3:20-22, 5:20
The law doesn’t justify you, it shows you that you are a sinner.
Even as you become more aware of the Law, what happens? The law doesn’t bend to suit us!
If the Law has righteous requirements, but is impossible to keep, what then is the result?
QUESTION: What use does the Law have for the non-Christian?
Is it useful for the non-Christian?
What function does the Law perform for the Christian?
Is it useful for the Christian?
CONCLUSION: Then the Law is useful, if one uses it lawfully.

Does the Law have the same final word for the Christian?
COMMENT: The Law is useful to the Christian but it wasn’t made for the Christian in the same way that it was made for the non-Christian.

EXCEPTION- GALATIANS 3:23-26
3:24 tutor- Not a teacher, but an attendant, custodian, a slave whose job it was to make sure the children made it to school. To restrain the children form evil and temptation, and place them in school that they might receive proper instruction.
The tutor, attendant, was to bring the student to the teacher.
The function of the law was to bring us to Christ .
Our failure of the law brought us to seek justification by faith.
1 Tim 1:11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.
